With over 2,600 employees, PwC is one of the largest auditing companies in Switzerland. Girsberger was tasked with testing and servicing all 2,340 chairs – all kinds of products from different manufacturers – after five years of use at PwC’s main office in Birchstrasse, Zurich-Oerlikon. Screws were tightened and minor service jobs carried out. For reasons of hygiene and aesthetics, all upholstery was thoroughly cleaned in a process involving several stages. Worn upholstery was replaced but all of the chairs could still be used. Twenty five people worked on four Saturdays to complete this large project.
